Skilled Workforce

We have a qualified workforce locally due to the high number of graduates in the area and transferable skills available through historical manufacturing based in the locality.  Through the Energy Dundee partnerships any skills identified and operational challenges can be facilitated through various partners and bespoke solutions provided.

Dundee and Angus College (D&A College)

D&A College has invested in excess of £800k across the last 3 years in industry standard equipment, supported by European Regional Development Funding.  These facilities include state of the art equipment including:

  •  Investment in 40 welding booths supporting MIG, TIG, MMA, oxy-acetylene welding and cutting skills
  •  Mechanical Pipe Fitting Rig can be utilised for groups of engineering, electrical, and renewable energy trainee and industry professionals on fault finding ‘maintenance’ activities and for ‘operation’ activities for mechanical and electrical performance as well as instrumentation and process control.  The rig is laid out in such a way to mimic an ‘industrial situation’, which includes working at heights, confined spaces etc and allows trainees to remove mechanical equipment for mock refurbishment, installation and commissioning.
